What’s open, closed on Thanksgiving Day

Thursday’s Thanksgiving holiday will close government offices, delay trash pick-up, and close local libraries in Farmington and Farmington Hills. Heres’s what you should know:

1. Trash pick-up will be delayed. If Thursday is your regular collection day, set out the trash on Friday instead. Friday routes will be collected on Saturday.

2. Government offices and the library will be closed. Both Farmington Community Library buildings will close at 4 p.m. on Wednesday and remain closed through Thursday. Libraries re-open at 10 a.m. on Friday. The Farmington and Farmington Hills U.S. Post Office branches will be closed, but both have self-serve machines for mailing letters and packages and purchasing postage. Farmington and Farmington Hills city halls and the 47th District Court will be closed on Thursday and Friday.

3. Got a grocery emergency? You’ll be able to pick up last-minute holiday dinner items at Busch’s Fresh Food Market (7 a.m.-6 p.m.), Fresh Thyme Farmers Market (7 a.m.-2 p.m.), Heartland Marketplace (7 a.m.-10 p.m.), Kroger (6 a.m.-5 p.m.), and most 7-Eleven convenience stores.

4. Some restaurants will be open. Steven Lelli’s on the Green in Farmington Hills will serve a three-course Thanksgiving dinner; learn more at lellisinn.com.
