Julie Kaminski, currently the principal at Farmington High School, will take on the same role at Kenbrook Elementary School on January 4, 2017.

She will replace Pam Green, who is taking personal leave beginning November 28.

Dr. Jim Myers, former Farmington Public Schools principal and central office administrator, will serve as interim principal for Farmington High School; the district expects to permanently fill the post by January 30, 2017.

Melissa Wiercinski, current teacher leader at Wood Creek Elementary and former Kenbrook principal, will serve as interim principal at Kenbrook from November 28 to December 22.

Kaminski became principal of Farmington High School in 2009, after serving as the Assistant Principal at Plymouth High School for seven years. Prior to that, she served as the Assistant Principal/Athletic Director for Allen Park Middle School. She began her career as a high school teacher, after earning a Bachelor of Arts and Masters of Public Administration from the University of Michigan-Dearborn, Education Specialist in School Administration from Oakland University and her Doctorate of Education Leadership from Eastern Michigan University.

“While I love Farmington High School, the students, faculty and families, I am ready for a new experience in my professional life,” Kaminski said. “I am ready to take on a different set of challenges and explore new possibilities.”

“When this opportunity presented itself, it seemed like the right fit for this stage of my career,” she added. “I am excited to work with our youngest students and help to shape their early school experiences.”
