Joni Mitchell tribute and more at local libraries

The Farmington Community Library offers free events and activities each week. To learn more or register, click on “Events” at farmlib.org or call 248-553-0300. Find the Main Library at 32737 W. 12 Mile Rd. in Farmington Hills, and the Farmington branch at 23500 Liberty St.

Both branches of the library will close at 4 p.m. on Nov. 23, and remain closed Nov. 24 for Thanksgiving Day.

ESL Book Discussion: Nov. 21, 1:30 p.m., Farmington branch

A book club for non-native English speakers. Read One Amazing Thing, by Chitra Divakaruni, a few chapters each week. We’ll answer questions, hear dialogue, and discuss plot developments at our Monday classes. Registration required.

Story Time Dance Party for All Ages: Nov. 25, 10:30 a.m., Main Library

One book, lots of dances, one craft and activities. Fun for all ages, no registration is necessary.

A Tribute To Joni Mitchell: Nov. 26, 2 p.m., Main Library

Jan Krist hosts this special concert honoring one of the singer-songwriter masters. Performers include Jim Bizer, Annie Capps, Rod Capps, Alan Finkbeiner, Randy Bizer and Jerry Stormer. They will perform a wide swath of songs from Joni’s catalogue such as “Help Me,” “Both Sides Now,” “Free Man in Paris,” “River,” “The Circle Game,” and many others.
