A sampling of the this year’s Visual Art and Photography entries in the Farmington Public School District’s PTA Reflections program will be on display in the lower level atrium at Farmington Hills City Hall through November.
The theme of the exhibit is “Let Your Imagination Fly.” The display at City Hall is a joint effort coordinated by the City’s Cultural Arts Division and the Farmington Area PTA Council.
A total of 25 pieces from elementary, middle, and high school levels are on exhibit and the public is welcome to view the work during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Farmington Hills City Hall located at 31555 W. 11 Mile Rd. at the corner of Orchard Lake Road.
The PTA Reflections Program inspires students to reflect upon a specific theme and create an original work of art in any of six categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, and Visual Arts. Entries are judged at the Local, District, State, and National levels.
Reflection Chairs Pauline Kim, Kelli Carpenter-Crawford, and Monica Cardenas thanked the community, “We are so grateful for the opportunity to let our students shine.” The 2016/17 theme is “What is Your Story?” For details about next year’s Reflections program, visit http://www.farmington.k12.mi.us/pta/.
