Hospital concert series features medical, community ensembles

Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital will host three concerts October, November, and December featuring a diverse selection of local musical groups.

The concerts are part of the Healing Arts Program at Henry Ford, which uses literary, performing, and visual art experiences to promote healing and celebrate the cultural diversity of the community.

Detroit Medical Orchestra

October 23, 2 p.m.-3 p.m., Ravitz Foundation Main Atrium

Primarily composed of medical professionals from metro Detroit, this group will perform with emergency medicine specialist Jasper Yung, DO, Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital. The program features symphonies by Mozart and Beethoven.

Pebble Creek Chamber Orchestra

November 6, 4 p.m.-5:30 p.m., Henry’s (café)

This volunteer community orchestra specializes in the performance of Baroque music with harpsichord, as well as more contemporary, jazz compositions. Their concerts feature music of living Michigan composers.

Classical Bells

December 12, 12:30 p.m.-1 p.m., Ravitz Foundation Main Atrium

The handbell quartet plays holiday music with three octaves of bells.
