Farmington 2nd Fridays closes 2016 season

Downtown Farmington wraps up its 2016 Farmington Second Fridays (F2F) series October 14, with a sports-themed evening.

“F2F wraps up for the season with a spirited nod to our favorite teams – high school, college or pro,” said Annette Knowles, Assistant to the City Manager/Downtown Development Authority (DDA) Executive Director. “Wear a team jersey or colors to show your spirit.”

Posters in windows and spray chalk stencils will identify businesses open until 9 p.m. There’s also a list of participants at downtownfarmington.org.

Patrons, business owners and employees are encouraged to wear gear supporting their favorite college or local high school’s sports team and post photos taken in downtown Farmington to Facebook or Twitter, with the hashtag #f2f. Each team referenced in a post or visually depicted in a photo taken on October 14 in the downtown and tagged with #f2f will be tallied, so that we can determine Downtown Farmington’s favorite fall sports school.  The most spirited patron identified in a #f2f post will receive a prize.

Other highlights:

  • Free boxes of Cracker Jacks will be distributed to patrons at participating businesses.
  • Baker’s Studio will be featuring football themed make-n-take cards.
  • F2F Committee member and registered yoga instructor April Lark will be kicking off a series called Yoga for Deep Relaxation from 7 p.m.-8 p.m. at The Tree of Life Holistic Center.
  • Dubin Optometric Clinic is celebrating its 40th anniversary with an open house complete with refreshments and prizes, 4:30 p.m.-7 p.m.
