A Farmington man told police Tuesday that two men asking for help forced their way into his apartment and shot him in the leg.
According to a release issued by the department, investigators are interviewing the victim and witnesses, but have determined there is “no immediate threat” to the public.
Farmington Public Safety officers responded at around 9 p.m. to the 40-year-old man’s Mooney Street apartment in the Orchard Lake Road/Shiawassee Street area. He was taken by ambulance to Beaumont Hospital-Farmington Hills, where he is in stable condition.
The man told investigators that the two men, who were dressed in dark clothing, told him they had car trouble and asked to use his phone. He refused, a struggle ensued, and one of the men shot him in the leg. Both men ran away.
