The National Weather Service (NWS) has extended a flash flood warning, now in effect through 2:15 p.m. Thursday, for a portion of Oakland County that includes Farmington Hills and Farmington.
Up to two inches of rain had already fallen by the time the original warning, in effect until 10:15 a.m., was issued. According to the alert, rainfall rates of up to 1 inch per hour are possible.
Runoff is expected to cause flooding on highways, streets, underpasses, and drainage and low-lying areas. Forecasters say the rainy weather will continue through the weekend.
