Farmington Hills PD promotes long-time officer

Farmington Hills Police Officer Kurt Bearer was promoted September 12 to the rank of Sergeant.

Hired as a police cadet in 2000, Bearer became a police officer in 2001. He has served in the Patrol Division as a uniformed patrol officer and in the Investigative Division as both a task force officer in the Oakland County Narcotics Enforcement Team and as a Squad A detective.

In addition to Life Saving Awards, a Professional Service Award, and a Distinguished Office Unit Citation, he has received numerous letters of appreciation from citizens. Bearer has an Associates Degree from Schoolcraft Community College and has continued his education at Eastern Michigan University and Ferris State University.
