Costick Center to close due to water main issue

An unexpected water main replacement will close the busy Costick Activities Center, 28600 W. 11 Mile Rd. in Farmington Hills, for five days in early October.

The city announced the closure, effective October 10-14, on Monday. Rentals and all scheduled activities have been cancelled; however, the front desk will be open Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., and Wednesday until 7 p.m. Here’s how specific programs will be affected:

  • Adults 50 and Better activities, dance sessions, and youth dance classes will be made up October 31-November 4.
  • Aquatic classes and lessons are canceled and refunds for that week will be issued.
  • Youth theatre rehearsals will be held at the Spicer House in Heritage Park.
  • Flu shots have been rescheduled to November 1.
  • Law Day has been rescheduled to November 3.
  • Meals on Wheels and senior transportation will continue, but the Senior Center will be closed.
