Downtown Farmington’s September 9 Farmington Second Fridays (F2F) event will include a delicious challenge that showcases four local restaurants.
During Second Fridays events, participating businesses offer specials, activities, and promotions, while remaining open until 9 p.m. Posters in the windows and spray chalk stencils at the store fronts identify F2F businesses, which are also listed at downtownfarmington.org.
This Friday, shoppers will enjoy free samples of homemade desserts and vote for their favorites at these restaurants:
- Browndog Dessert Bar, 33314 Grand River Avenue
- Chive Kitchen, 33043 Grand River Avenue
- Edible Arrangements, 32730 Grand River Avenue
- Page’s Food & Spirits, 23621 Farmington Road
Page’s will be defending its 2015 title, won with 125 votes for the chef’s Apple Crisp Cobbler.
“The Apple Dessert Challenge is a great way to ramp up a little friendly competition between the talented dessert artists at our local businesses,” Downtown Development Association (DDA) Vice-President and Project Chair Sean Murphy said in a press release. “If last year’s entries are any indication, it’s going to be delicious.”
Annette Knowles, Assistant to the City Manager and DDA Executive Director added, “Downtown Farmington restaurants are stepping up to the challenge in this fun competition. With new participants this year, expect your taste buds as well as the competition to be stimulated.”
Other F2F committee members are April Lark, Andrea Zimmer and Sue Nebe, owner of Baker’s Studio. For more information visit downtownfarmington.org, become a fan of Downtown Farmington on Facebook and follow Downtown Farmington on Twitter @DntwnFarmington.
