New Farmington Hills Police Officer Sayeed Ahmed took his oath of office August 9, during a swearing in ceremony held at the Farmington Hills Police Department.

A 2007 graduate of Cass Tech High School, Ahmed graduated with honors from Wayne County Community College and Wayne State University with an Associate Degree and a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice.

In December 2015, Ahmed graduated from the Macomb Community College Police Academy. The 17-week course prepares police recruits in the areas of criminal law, cultural competence, community policing, and investigative procedures.

Ahmed worked at the Farmington Hills Police Department from 2014 to 2016 as a Police Service Aide.

“We are proud to have Officer Ahmed on our staff and he will continue to be a great asset to the department,” Chief Chuck Nebus said in a press release.

Officer Ahmed will be assigned to uniform patrol duties in the Patrol Division of the Department’s Operations Bureau.
