Detroit motorcyclist dies in Farmington Hills crash

A 55-year-old Detroit man died at around 12:30 a.m. Saturday, after a Dodge Ram pick-up truck struck his motorcycle on Northwestern Highway, north of 13 Mile Road in Farmington Hills.

According to a Farmington Hills Police Department press release, the pick-up driver, a 25-year-old Dearborn man, fled the scene and later turned himself in to the Dearborn Police Department. He was in Farmington Hills Police custody early Saturday afternoon, pending additional investigation. Alcohol is not believed to have been a factor.

Based on evidence left at the scene, investigators are also looking for a blue Ford that may have been involved in the accident. Anyone with information is asked to call the Farmington Hills Police Department Command Desk, 248-871- 2610.
