College students urged to pick up absent voter application

The Farmington City Clerk’s office is encouraging college students to make one more stop before heading back to campus.

Students who will be out of town for the November 8 General Election may complete a request for an Absentee Ballot, by stopping by the office at their City Hall. Those who first registered to vote by mail or with a third party should bring along a driver’s license or other state-issued identification card, or a passport, along with their address at school.

The deadline to register for the election is October 11, but if you register by mail, the clerk’s office can’t issue an absent voter ballot. To learn more about elections in Farmington, visit or call 248-474-5500, ext. 2218. In Farmington Hills, visit or call 248-871-2410.
