The Wildcard 14U fastpitch softball program will hold final tryouts in Shiawassee Park in Farmington on August 13 and 14, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
The fun, competitive, and affordable learning program encourages teamwork, responsibility and dedication in a positively encouraged environment. Coaches are highly qualified and have high school and college experience in other sports (as well as softball). They teach fundamentals first for each player as individuals, and in their role in the team concept.
The Wildcards have won more than 30 games in the last two seasons, placing in the top two of their league, as well as placing in several tournaments. According to one parent, “My daughter learned more in the hour-and- a-half tryout than she did all last season.”
In its 14th year, the Wildcards travel/tournament teams are affiliated with South Farmington Baseball. Teams play 3-5 tournaments in the Western Wayne County Softball League, some out of town, and practice 1-3 times per week. There is also off-season training, from fall 2016 through April 2017, with two or more practices per month.
The park is located at 32340 Shiawassee Rd. (fields #3 and #4). Please arrive 30 minutes prior to scheduled tryout time, for registration. 10U and 12U registration will be announced at a later date.
