Farmington Hills biz wins national consumer tech honor

Farmington Hills-based Paulson’s Audio & Video has been named Dealerscope’s 2016 Retail Excellence Award winner.

The national magazine provides coverage of the consumer technology market. In a profile published earlier this month, Dealerscope described the long-time family business as having “adapted and molded to remain relevant not only in an industry that has been completely disrupted by companies like Amazon, but a segment of the country that has seen and been through some of the toughest times.”

Ken Paulson launched the business in 1992; today, sons Kris and Dan are also involved. Paulson’s hasn’t moved from its Halsted Village location at 12 Mile and Halsted Road, but instead expanded within the shopping center. According to the profile, a “massive redesign of the showroom”.
