Quilting Bee: Aug. 1, 6 p.m., Main Library

Sew, show, and discuss your project, while keeping up to date on quilting-related topics, with the Farmington Hills Library Quilters, led by volunteers Lori Rhode, Sue Horner and Ernestine Baines. For more information, call 248-848-4315.

Come to either branch for a day to relax and color.

Memories, Milestones & Memoirs: Aug. 2, 10:30 a.m., Main Library

A monthly group where attendees can write their memories, and share with others. No registration is necessary. Bring a pad and pen.

The Big Bang Theory-The Ever Evolving Story of Our Universe: Aug. 2, 7 p.m., Main Library

Join physics professor and astronomy enthusiast Jesse Mason for a presentation on how man came to discover the origin of the cosmos. Weather permitting, we will have telescopes afterwards for outdoor viewing of the night sky.

Family Fun in Riley Park: Aug. 3, 7 p.m., Walter E. Sundquist Farmington Pavilion & Riley Park

Bring a blanket, come early and have a picnic or grab dinner at one of the local restaurants then enjoy this free family show, featuring Joe Reilly.

Open Lab: Aug. 4, 6 p.m., Main Library

Join us in the Main Library Computer Lab to receive assistance from one of our tech gurus with your personal device, favorite social media network, and other computer issues.

Pokémon Go Battle Day: Aug. 5, 6:30 p.m., Main Library

Drop in to the Main Library for an after hours Gym battle and Lure Drops. We’ll have prizes for taking over the gym and other surprises.

Resume Assistance: Aug. 6

One on one hour-long sessions with a volunteer to develop and write your resume. Learn to organize your skills and employment history into a usable resume. See a librarian or call 248-553-0300 ext. 216 to register for an appointment.

Isha Kriya Meditation: Sundays, Aug. 7 and 21, 2 p.m., Main Library

Learn a simple yet powerful 15-minute practice that creates enhanced clarity, improved health and a state of peacefulness and joy. No previous meditation experience is necessary and it can be done seated in a chair.
