Fun with Elephant & Piggie: July 25, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., Main Library

For ages 4 and up. Come hear stories by Mo Willems about the cautious elephant and the impulsive pig. We will also dance, play games and make crafts.

Community Sings with Matt Watroba: July 26, 7 p.m., Main Library

Matt will expertly guide everyone to sing their favorite songs and maybe learn some new ones, whether you a casual singer, a shower singer or even been asked to mouth the words. The format is “in the round” style to encourage all levels and all ages to sing. No experience necessary.

Farmington Community Stargazers: July 26, 7:30 p.m., Main Library

The focus of the group is astronomy outreach as a means of promoting scientific literacy in the community. This summer we’re discussing our nascent club’s structure, planning our second Tuesday Star Parties and sharing current astronomical events.

Author/Illustrator Lynne Rae Perkins-From Idea to Book: July 28, 2 p.m., Main Library

For ages 5 & up. This Newbery Award-winning author will talk about how her ideas are developed into books. She will discuss her latest chapter book, Nuts to You, her picture book, Frank and Lucky Get Schooled, answer questions and autograph books. Books will be available for purchase courtesy of The Book Beat bookstore.
