The Farmington Hills Fire Department’s newest firefighter Timothy Cyrus was officially sworn in June 24 by City Clerk Pam Smith.

Hired on June 13 as a career firefighter/paramedic, Cyrus fills a vacancy created by a retirement.

Cyrus has been a firefighter for more than eight years and holds an Associate’s Degree in Fire Science from Kalamazoo Valley Community College. He spent the last three years as a Paramedic with Mobile Medical Response, and also served as a paid, on-call firefighter with the Grand Blanc Fire Department. Prior to that, he served with the Greenville Fire Department in South Carolina.

“Tim Cyrus comes to us highly recommended from his previous employers,” said Fire Chief Jon Unruh. “He will make a great addition to our highly regarded fire department.”

Tim’s wife, Sara, pinned on his badge at the swearing-in ceremony, which was attended by Farmington Hills Mayor Ken Massey, City Manager Dave Boyer, and members of the Fire Department and City Staff.
