Farmington Hills police warn about more thefts from vehicles

Farmington Hills Police Department on Thursday warned vehicle owners about more thefts from unlocked vehicles, after items were taken from two in the area of 11 Mile and Middlebelt Roads.

Thieves have hit unlocked vehicles in several areas of the city over the past two months. In Farmington, public safety officers recently arrested a 17-year-old local resident in connection with similar crimes.

In every case, police department press releases and nixle.com alerts have reminded citizens to “lock their vehicles and secure valuable items at all times, including wheel locks. Valuable items left inside a vehicle should not be visible from the exterior and vehicles should be parked in high visibility areas.”

If you see suspicious activity in your neighborhood, call 9-1-1 for an immediate response, or contact the Farmington Hills police department, 248-871-2600.
