British Invasion kicks off Rhythmz in Riley Park Friday

The Paisley FoggThe Rhythmz in Riley Park concert series opens June 10 in downtown Farmington, with an evening of British Invasion, psychedelic sixties and toe-tapping folk rock music.

“We are starting off with The Paisley Fogg, one of Riley Park’s all-time favorites,” said Tom Birchler, producer of the 2016 Rhythmz concert series. “Their take on sixties rock n’ roll has the perfect vibe to launch this year’s concert series.”

Birchler described the group as “Michigan’s most authentic sixties rock band”; members of the group have performed on stage at the fabled Grande Ballroom and played lead guitar with Motown’s Rare Earth.

“Their members have seen the Beatles and The Rolling Stones on their very first tours of America,” he said. “How many people can say they saw The Who perform live at Southfield High School? They don’t just play this music, they lived it.”

A rain location has been provided at the First United Methodist Church across Grand River Avenue. No food or drinks are allowed in the church.
