Tuesday jazz concert benefits Hills cancer charity

Jazzalot: Music for the Soul, an annual concert hosted by Farmington Hills resident Elaine Greenberg, will celebrate its 10th anniversary on May 31, at Temple Israel, 5725 Walnut Lake Rd., West Bloomfield.

The 7 p.m. event will feature music by George (Saxman) Benson, the Cliff Monear Trio, Dave Bennett, and the Southeastern Music Academy Jazz Ensemble. Proceeds will go toward bringing comfort to cancer patients.

“The company Living For Music, Inc. was started by my husband Shelly and I in order to raise funds to help those dealing with cancer,” said Greenberg, a 16-year ovarian cancer survivor. “I go into local cancer centers to visit with patients to give them hope and inspiration and give them our beautiful gift bags that are purchased from the funds we raise from Jazzalot.”
