Warner students prep for tonight’s talent show

Students crowded into Warner Upper Elementary School’s cafeteria Thursday afternoon to sing, dance, make music and prepare for a Friday talent show that will involve more than 40 young performers.

This was the only rehearsal before the 6 p.m. show in the North Farmington auditorium, parent Dawn Thomas said. She and her husband, Sean, are producing the show. The Farmington Hills residents both have entertainment-related businesses.

“This builds up their confidence,” Dawn Thomas said of the student performances. “Kids are taking lessons, and this gives them a chance to show the skills they’ve learned. It makes them stronger.”

In addition, Sean Thomas said, the show brings people together. “It’s nice to see the community connecting and see parents encouraging the arts.”
