The Arab American and Chaldean Council (ACC) will accept applications through April 29 for its 14th Annual ACC Scholarship Program, which offers financial assistance to high school seniors of Arab or Chaldean descent.
Scholarships will be based on academic excellence and financial need. Applicants must have already been accepted to a college, maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and participated in extracurricular and volunteer activities. The application is available at myacc.org.
“The ACC was proud to award 26 scholarships last year to area students,” said Dr. Haifa Fakhouri, President Arab American and Chaldean Council. “The ACC makes it a priority for students in our community to have all the opportunities available to them in order to pursue their education and achieve academic success. We look forward to another successful year.”
Funds for the Scholarship Awards Program are generated from the ACC’s Annual Golf Outing and Scholarship Awards Dinner, which also features a silent auction. The event will take place this year on Tuesday, June 7 at Shenandoah Country Club in West Bloomfield. Information on sponsorship and participation opportunities also can be found at myacc.org.
