Learn about spring allergies during April walk

The next Beaumont Hospital, Farmington Hills “Walk with a Doc” program, held from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. on April 21, will focus on spring allergy season.

Physicians lead this series of free, community event, which emphasizes exercise and provides health tips. Allergist and immunologist Annie Arrey-Mensah, M.D., will speak this month about the causes, diagnosis, treatment, triggers and management of spring allergies.

“It’s nearly impossible to completely avoid spring allergies since the main cause is from the many trees that grow here in Michigan,” said Arrey-Mensah. “People can minimize their allergy symptoms through medications and taking precautions, such as keeping doors and windows closed when pollen levels are high.”

The program will be held at the Heritage Park Nature Center, located on the west side of Farmington Road between 10 and 11 Mile Roads in Farmington Hills. The event will be held rain or shine.
