Hills soccer tourney helps player fighting cancer

Goals for Gold, a 3v3 Soccer Tournament to benefit a young player who is fighting cancer, will take place on May 1, 12 p.m.-6 p.m., at Founders Sports Park in Farmington Hills.

Goals for Gold

The Farmington Soccer Club (FSC) will host this event to benefit Emma Ostrowski, a 13 year-old FSC soccer player who is battling a rare pediatric cancer.

The tournament is open to players of all ages and experience levels. This is a great opportunity for a change of pace from regular season action, and to build great skills in a fast-paced 3v3 format. Each team of four to six players will be guaranteed three games. Registration is $120 per team, and the deadline is April 21.

The tournament will include:

  • Appearance by the Detroit City Football Club
  • Bounce house (free for participants, suggested donation for siblings and guests)
  • Concessions (purchase by donation)
  • Dizzy Shoot Out Contest (donation) with successful goal scorers being entered into drawings for a variety of prizes

Teams can register on eventbrite.com (search 3v3 or Emma in Detroit, MI). To volunteer time and donate needed items, visit goo.gl/nVIq0u.

Stay updated on Emma’s prognosis and donate directly on Emma’s Fight GoFundMe page or donate via PayPal to WeLoveEmmaO@gmail.com. All proceeds will go directly to Emma’s family to help with expenses related to fighting her cancer.
