The City of Farmington has moved its yard waste dates by one week, with collection beginning April 11 and ending December 2.
Grass, leaves, spent garden plants, flowers, weeds, pine needles, pine cones, acorns, chestnuts, walnuts, apples, pumpkins, loose straw (not baled), vines, twigs and woody material up to 2″ in diameter all qualify as yard waste and cannot be mixed with your regular trash. Yard waste may be placed in trash cans (up to 32 gallon) with a yard waste decal facing the street, or a kraft paper landscape bag. Containers cannot weigh more than 60 pounds.
Trash can stickers are available free at City Hall, 23600 Liberty Street, or the Department of Public Works building, 33720 W. Nine Mile Rd, Farmington.
