Dog lovers, rejoice – Bark in the Park will return May 22 to the Walter E. Sundquist Farmington Pavilion and Riley Park in downtown Farmington.
The first application processed under the city’s new events policy sailed through Monday night’s city council meeting. After a brief review, officials approved it with a 5-0 vote.
“I am delighted to have the unanimous support of the council,” said organizer Vera Lucksted. “I’m excited to again bring this family-friendly, free event for dog lovers to the community.”
Vendors who attended last year are expected to return, along with a few new businesses with “cute things you might not find at other places,” Lucksted said. The event will include agility and barn hunt demonstrations, as well as “cool pools” that give pups a place to chill out.
This year, Lucksted is looking for an event sponsor, whose name will be prominently displayed on new Bark in the Park t-shirts. Anyone interested should send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Learn more about Bark in the Park on Facebook.
