High winds knock out power for 1500-plus

More than 1,500 DTE customers in Farmington Hills lost power Wednesday morning and afternoon, as high winds blew through southeast Michigan.

Customers located between I-696 and Heritage Park east and west of Farmington Road; south of 14 Mile between Orchard Lake and Farmington Roads; and north of Eight Mile west of Tuck Road, were affected. Power restoration is expected between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. Monday evening, according to DTE’s online outage map.

According to the National Weather Service, a high wind advisory remains in effect through 8 p.m., with winds gusting as high as 50 miles per hour.
