Local AT&T customers can now text to make donations that will help children affected by the Flint water crisis.
“The generosity of Michiganders during the Flint water crisis has been a testament to the character of families in this community and across the state,” said Lieutenant Governor Brian Calley. “Now, thanks to AT&T, helping Flint’s children is as simple as sending a text message.”
Simply text FLINT to 27722 to make a $10 donation to the Flint Child Health and Development Fund. Donations sent via text-to-donate are added to a customer’s monthly wireless bill.
“We are grateful for the generosity of AT&T for their ongoing support of children and families affected by Flint’s water crisis,” said Kathi Horton, President of the Community Foundation of Greater Flint. “AT&T’s continued support for the long-term needs of Flint’s children will make a real difference in kids’ lives.”
In late January, AT&T contributed $50,000 to support efforts of the Community Foundation of Greater Flint and its Flint Child Health and Development Fund. AT&T has also set up a YourCause employee contribution page to allow the company’s employees around the world to contribute to the recovery efforts.
“AT&T is committed to families in Flint,” said Jim Murray, President of AT&T Michigan. “Mobile technology keeps people better connected than ever before. The textto-give campaign goes an important step further, not just keeping us connected, but lending a helping hand.”
